We founded one of the first new media agencies in 1992, one of the first dot com practices in 1994 and one of the first social media agencies in 2005. This year we formed a partnership with kbs+ and we are hard at work riding the next wave, which we identified two years ago. We've always believed there’s no better time than now to innovate. 

While many marketers simply bolt social channels onto traditional campaigns, we understand that social is more than just channels. It’s a set of behaviors - habits and routines - based on the innate need to share and socialize. These series of interlocking actions and reactions relate to content connecting the entire customer journey. The journey is ubiquitously technological and inherently social. 

We use data-informed insights to create shareable, measurable content and experiences distributed at key touch points throughout the customer journey. We understand that social, search, and CRM aren’t specialty silos. They are interconnected transmitters that must be configured harmoniously to signal a clear path between audience and brand. Attention takes an enterprise-wide approach to calibrating these signals to maximize reach and deliver results.

An Art Director at Attention is responsible for executing all creative materials with the highest level of quality. You are enthusiastic, inspire confidence in our clients, and represent the agency flawlessly. To do so successfully, candidates will need to have strong industry points of view through the extensive experience within the digital industry as leaders. Art Directors should have 5+ years of experience in a marketing agency setting with the majority spent in a digital agency.   

Duties and Responsibilities:

General Duties

  • Collaborate with all agency and client stakeholders to create conceptual design solutions, which support brand and social strategy
  • Responsible for all facets of design and art direction — creation of concepts, refinements of design directions, graphics production, and creation of presentation materials
  • Carefully interpreting creative guidelines to produce accurate design/art direction deliverables
  • Manage, train and mentor Designers and Junior Designers
  • Preparation of materials for client and internal meetings
  • Management of scheduling and coordination of project deliverables with Producers
  • Ability to work autonomously on design/art direction assignments
  • Attention to detail and deadlines
  • Presentation to client of design refinements
  • Participate in new business efforts as requested 
Financial Management
  • Work with Creative Director to manage client budgets and work closely with Attention’s Client Services team to ensure efficient use of resources and healthy margin
  • Maximize revenue by effectively managing against contracted documents and working with clients to make financial adjustments when appropriate
  • Possess ambitious and entrepreneurial spirit to foster business growth
To qualify for an Art Director role at Attention, an individual needs to possess the following:
  • Strong knowledge of Web design architecture and other interactive mediums such as mobile and tablet experiences
  • Strong knowledge of social platforms (Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of typography, layout, color, all design fundamentals (scale, proportion, rhythm, balance, symmetry, etc)

  • Collaborating with creative team in developing campaigns, design executions, and content creation
  • Assisting with agency collateral (presentations, agency site, agency case studies)
  • Researching campaigns, digital tools, and apps related to agency assignments
  • Providing admin support
To qualify for this role at Attention, an individual should possess the following:
  • Strong Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign skills with an interest in motion graphics (after effects) or video editing
  • Portfolio with a mix of pure design and advertising/marketing concepts
  • Expert in current and emerging social channels and digital tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organization skills and the ability to handle various projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work individually and take initiative
